Alexander Technique

What does Freedom mean in our daily lives?

The Alexander Technique is a method of observing the habits that shape our everyday activities. Through this practice, we can make more conscious choices about our natural balance and how we use our body and mind. The core of the Alexander Technique is breathing and the integrated use of body and mind.

In a private Alexander Technique lesson, we work on everyday physical actions such as lying down, sitting, standing, walking, or any other activity you perform regularly or are interested in exploring further. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, providing a personal space for discovery and well-being.

My first encounter with the Alexander Technique was in the 1990s in New York, during a class with choreographer Stephen Petronio, who introduced us to the principles of the method. However, it wasn't until a few years later, after a major surgery, that I took private lessons with my first teacher, Itziar Castillo, in Amsterdam. It was there that I deepened my understanding of how the Technique can transform the relationship between body and mind.

Upon returning to Buenos Aires, I learned that the first teacher training school for the Alexander Technique, ETABA, was opening, led by Merran Poplar. In 2008, after three years of training with renowned teachers such as Carmen Tarnowski, Karen Wentworth, John Nicholls, Mariana di Paula, and others, I became a certified Alexander Technique teacher.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with people from various fields, including actors, musicians, singers, dancers, and many others seeking to restore their physical, emotional, and psychological balance. Each encounter with the Technique offers a chance to rediscover ourselves and regain the freedom to move in a more conscious and balanced way.
